Damn, the Oscars bring out the hate like no one's business

I don't get why everyone was so pissed off with Seth McFarlane's hosting job. Is it because of the boob song? I loved it and I'm really glad someone addressed it, not gonna lie. My only complaint is that it wasn't controversial enough but that is clearly my own issues creeping up. He was funny, some jokes were on point, he kept it moving, he sang great! Sure it wasn't the best hosting we've been but certainly not the worst. All the hate is why we can't get great people to host! It's a thankless job and it's impossible to walk away unscathed.
Not only is there hate for McFarlane but holy moly there is tons of hate on Anne Hathaway - and I joined that hate train! I'm ashamed to say so because I LOVE HER! At least I used to... what happened?! No denying she is a great actress and I don't hate her for that, but recently she seems so... obnoxious? I just... don't... get it... maybe someone can help me out here. I used to LOVE seeing her interviews but now I want to throw-up in my mouth every time she speaks. I can't quite put my finger on it, but before she was so much more playful and cool but now... she seems so stiff and it comes off as she's trying to be perfect... I don't know, that could be my whole thing but I also love her so much and I have a lot of respect for her - but I can't help but eye roll every time I see her on T.V I'M SO TORN!!! I was all over twitter during the Oscars and I was so shocked at the amount of hate out there for her. Has everyone always hated her this much or is this just a fad? Are people just pissed off at her insane amount of success and talent? I am, I'm not gonna lie. I totally wish I was her (minus the haircut). I would love to be cat woman, be in Les Miserables and have Hugh Jackman as my bestie. Who wouldn't want that?! So if it's not jealousy... what is it? Please comment, I'm sooo curious!!!
More hate.... Argo. I get why Canadians are pissed off that in the movie the CIA came up with the escape idea and didn't credit Canada for it but boo hoo get over it. It's a fricken movie! The story is about the CIA guy - not Canada and the movie was awesome and they thanked us, get the fuck over it. "Typical Hollywood" - yes typical Hollywood! What else did you expect? Move on...
Russel Crowe - you can only feel bad for the guy.
Jennifer Lawrence - ha, just messing with you, everyone loves her!! You're fucked if you hate her, she is a treasure!

guns don't kill people... bullets do STUPID!

Here we go again!! The big debate on guns. Do people kill or do guns kill or does mental illness kill? Or do sharks kill? I don't know, I'm not a psychologist or a marine biologist. I'm not even American so what do I know about guns... I've only seen a gun on a police officer. I really don't understand the obsession that some Americans have about their guns. Does it make you feel powerful? Is it an extension of your small dick? I really don't get it so please if you do, leave a comment and explain to me why you go gaga over your gun.
It's really simple. If we get extreme here, I'm talking devil horning your fingers extreme... we get rid of guns... then what? What's the worst that could happen? The absolute worst!! More stabbings? Not as many cool movies? Hmm... when you put it that way, that is a bummer... fuck it, guns for all!! I really do love the irony that some people think the solution to mass shootings is MORE GUNS!! That's like telling a fatty that the solution to them losing weight is going to McDonalds. Or to solve our bad education system is to take away books. Or like telling a be a necrophiliac the solution to their problem is to work in a morgue - you know, to keep them safe... really?!
There are so many issues dealing with the whole mass shooting craze that it's not just guns that need to be addressed, but how people ignore mental illness and just ignore everything in general. It seems like people are falling further and further from logic that it's pointless to even tell them to look before crossing the street because they'll just argue it's not their job and they have the right to cross whenever they want. Of course once they get hit by a car people wonder why and then make the same arguments and it's just a vicious cycle and I feel like I'm losing my point... oh well, not my problem; you're not reading properly.
The other issue is the media. What happens a lot of the time is the media makes the killer this monster and makes him famous to killing 'x' amount and how he did it, etc. Unfortunately, what this does is it inspires future killers to want to top him. People want to be remembered when they die, so if you're going out a loser, you may as well be a remembered loser. It's sick and messed up but then again that's the reasoning with people that want to kill children to be famous.
Another hypothetical, what if the media didn't mention the man's name or revealed his face? They just focused on the heroic people and praised the work of the those who saved lives? If something isn't working, then fix it. Why use the same mentality? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Who really here has mental illness? OOOOH I mind fucked you! (Pun intended)

Is everyone stuck in the slut phase?

I am a fan on Jenna Marbles and I just watched a video she made about what she doesn't understand about sluts. It made me wonder myself what the deal is and I agree that this is a good conversation for people to have so we can understand each other better.
For myself personally, I never went through a slut phase. I'm a big dork and never scored high with the fellas so whoever I did get I would capture them for a long relationship and that's how I get sex. I even thought if I missed out on having a slut phase and I have noooo regrets. Seeing what's out there and how people disrespect themselves is not someone I want to experience myself. I'm proud that I'm the minority and didn't have this phase. I'm also very confused behind the logic of sluts (by definition, I mean people who have sex with strangers). If we lived in a safer world then I think it wouldn't be such a big deal but because of the serious risks that are involved such as diseases, going home with a murderer, stage five clingers, etc. There are way too many risks than benefits. Also, how do you even know if the person will be any good? You just wasted your time and a number for what? Now.... I just want to say, I'm not speaking specifically about women. Man whores aren't very appealing to women either. Thaaaaaaats right! You didn't know that did ya!? This is a wake up call for all yous!!!
Then again, this is just my opinion and I'm speaking as an outsider so also keep in mind if you send mail offended you're probably a slut. Hahahahahahahahah I wish I saw the look on your face when you read that...Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha ahem... Sorry.... I had a moment, back to the article:
I read an article recently that men's prime motivation is sex and getting a woman. Men get good jobs to provide a good life for his future wife and get lots of sex. Men are getting easy (waaaaay too easy) sex and now that women are being more educated and getting better jobs, men dont have to get good jobs anymore to land a wife. So now, all they want in life is at easy access and women are complaining that there aren't ambitious men. We created this vicious cycle. How do we get things working again? Easy.... Quit being sluts!
I know that's not the only solution but it's a good start. One man gets his heart broken and goes from being a nice guy to a jerk because they think women only like jerks. Where would they get that idea? Maybe because there are a lot of jerk dads out there who messed up their daughters, maybe because nice guys get confused and think girls want jerks when really girls want a guy to be a man and not such a whimp. Ouch.... Yeah girls are harsh.... Now, the difference between a nice guy and a man isn't that far of a gap. We LOVE nice guys but with a pinch of aggression. Not the "bitch get me a sandwich" *ass slap* kind of aggression, the kind of man that knows what he wants and stands up for what he believes in. Basically men and women want the same thing. Men and woman. A woman wants a man and a man wants a woman. It's very simple. Look at the old movies and subtract the slaps across the face and that's what we all want. Men want a lady on the street and a freak in the sheets. A woman wants a man to kill the spiders and make her feel special. For the gay/lesbian community, I'm sorry but I have no idea what you're looking for so....yeah.
So for sluts, I know some of you will argue that you have strong sexual appetites. That's awesome, but everything in moderation. You might have a strong alcohol appetite but we call them alcoholics so there ya go. I'm sorry but if you go home with a stranger, chances are this person has done this many times before. You're just another number. You're not someone special. Even if you've gone on a couple dates, they're still not someone you know. You really get to know a person after 3 months. YES. I said it. Try at least a month and if you can't keep it in your pants or keep your legs closed then maybe you should explore why that is. You might be surprised by the answer. I'm not saying this to bring on judgement. I'm doing this to bring peace in people's lives and bring back balance in the whole crazy dating world. Hopefully this helps. God speed and good luck to you.

Have yourself a merry little - meh, fuck it...

What's this? Snow? Lights? Stampedes? Suicides? It must be CHRISTMAS SEASON!!!! Why one day is celebrated for a season, I don't know but I don't care! Like most people, I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas. For the record, I'm agnostic so the whole celebrating Jesus isn't the reason why I love it. I mostly celebrate Santa, shiny things, commercialism and food which makes me the perfect candidate for the Christmas sucker.
What I love most about Christmas: the lights. It sounds super lame and small minded (hello!) but nothing makes me feel more bright inside than seeing twinkle lights along a frosty window. There's something so calming about it that helps you forget you're surrounded by people crying over getting a 2% latte than the non-fat they asked for. Besides lights, I also love the family time. I know family time scares a lot of people around the holidays, but there are some family members I like seeing and for some reason the only time to see them is around Christmas... strange... it's nice though that we are forced to see each other at least once a year or else who knows when you'll see them next.
Things that blow about Christmas is the obvious stuff. The stress that it brings! Christmas arrives and then sucks out your hopes and dreams with cold bitter anger and then you wonder why you're pushing a small child out of your way to get to a store before it closes and telling a Grandma to "shove it" while going insane listening to the same Christmas carols over and over in ever store, mall and restaurant! MAKE THE MADNESS END!!!!! Ahem... too much?
The stress of getting presents shouldn't be stressful. I enjoy getting gifts for people (when I have the money) because it gives you that time to stop and think about the person and what they would appreciate. I am noticing that there are less people at the mall - THANK GOD for online shopping! One thing I do want to say to parents; when it comes to getting gifts for your kids, keep their expectations low. I keep hearing from stressed parents, "what am I going to tell my kid if they're sold out?! My kid HAS to have it!" My God, get a hold of yourself man! First off, they won't think Santa doesn't like them because he didn't get them a Wii. You need to tell your kids that Santa is focusing on the kids in Africa who don't have fresh water. Guilt those spoiled fuckers into knowing that they have it good and Santa doesn't need to bring them shit! Expect one gift kid and be glad you have running water, food in your stomach and a warm bed to sleep in you little twerp. Then, when they see they have an abundance of gifts on Christmas day, you best believe it will be tears of happiness streaming down their cute little faces. It will be a Christmas miracle!!! You're welcome...
It all doesn't matter anyways. The good, the bad and the perverted Santa is only around once every year so try to find the best way to cope with it. The main theme is to bring happiness around you and be with the people you love. You can't go wrong with that right? Except I will have to choke a bitch if they eat my turkey leg.

Pros and cons of being a grown up

Hey kids! You think life sucks because you don't get to do anything? Count your blessings... being a grown up isn't as amazing as you may think. I'm only in my mid-twenties and as much fun as you may think that is, it's bullshit. I'm not married, nor do I have children (thank God) so I can't even imagine how much more stressful it will be. I will give you a pros and cons list of being a grown up!

CONS
1) never winning the lottery
2) you develop more addictions. Adults always say "I NEED COFFEE" or "I NEED A DRINK". Life makes you dependent on things to make life easier... or at least thats what we think
3) you get more stuck in your ways. Don't you hate it when you try to explain to an adult but they always know more/better? Yeah... that adult either becomes you or someone you know... gross isn't it?
4) BILLS BILLS BILLS
5) Do you know how expensive the dentist is?? If I get a cavity, I'm fucked...
6) working a job you hate
7) Having a stooooopid boss
8) Now that you can vote, you educate yourself on the world and watch the news! Now you become an informed citizen and you see the awful world the adults before you created. Go team.
9) I had NO idea how flippin expensive a car is... it costs more than rent! (Which is why I don't have a car...)
10) public transportation and car pooling
11) it's creepy seeing people you know getting married and having babies... I can barely feed and burp myself!
12) can't ask your parents for help - but lets be honest, we still do... and that only reminds me of how much I suck at being a grown up
13) Having to wear "office attire" ....WHAT?!?!
14) Having teenagers not get the reference to your jokes
15) being called old when you're in your mid twenties
16) Being compared to other adults
17) learning about taxes, economics, mortgages... eww....
18) cook and clean your own shit
19) trying to figure out who you are and what you want.... exhausting...
20) knowing that the "teenager you" is disappointed in the "adult you"

PROS
1)You can eat whatever you want! That's right! My first year on my own all I ate was Kraft Dinner, chocolate lucky charm cereal and peanut butter and jam sandwiches. It was beautiful
2)Go to bed when you want.
3)Your parents can nag at you but all you have to do is hang up and the lectures stop
4) PARTIES!!!!! Need I say more?
5) Having friends over at your own place!
6) You get to do whatever you want with your life. Go to school in Paris! Go to jail! Whatever! Live a little!
7) Play the lottery
8) Discovering life
9) create long lasting relationships
10) Completing goals and creating new ones

See? It's not all bad... of course I listed more cons... I'm sure there are pros and cons I missed. I think though in the long run, you have more responsibility but more freedom at the same time. As much as being an adult sucks, I wouldn't go back.

Tarangela sayin, 'cut that shit out!'

I would like to start the first entry by telling you out there to "cut that shit out!" Just stop it. Whatever it is, just stop. Sometimes people do or say some things in the assumption that people care. For instance, telling your life story to someone you just met, or complaining about whatever you think is so important, or even imposing your beliefs on someone. Can't we all just not care and accept that people don't?
I think knowing that people don't care about what you have to say is pretty empowering! Think about it, every time you're about to gossip, complain, tattle... if you knew the person you're going to speak to doesn't care... would you still speak? That could cut down gossip, preaching, complaining, etc. down to at least half! Let's face it, there are people that don't care if you don't care, they're going to say whatever they want to say anyway. I understand that you want to feel important, but most of the time, what you're saying won't save my life or give me an "ah-ha moment" so shut up. No one cares.
Forgive me for sounding like an episode of Seinfeld, but what is the deal with TMI (too much information)?! I'm sorry, but unless I ask, I don't care to know how your dick was sucked or how your boyfriend finger bangs you. Especially if we're on meeting for the first time basis. I don't know if the internet has gotten us used to not censoring ourselves, but some things need to stay a mystery. For those people who LOVE to share uncomfortable stories, what do you get out of sharing this personal information? If you like creating awkward situations, then you're an asshole. Sorry to bust your "I'm awesome" bubble but no one cares about you and your life unless they ask and in most cases they only ask because they're trying to be nice. If your TMI story isn't funny then no one wants to hear it. I'm sure it would be nice if everyone was curious about your diarrhea problems or how big your ex-girlfriend's boobs are, but that's not reality. Why do you think the weather is such a popular subject? Its common ground and it doesn't involved genitals. We have friends for TMI talk, not new co-workers or Starbucks baristas. So please... CUT THAT SHIT OUT!

Define DLC

Disclaimer: It's Dee-El-See... Not Dilc.. If you call it Dilc.. You are an asshole.
I don't like on-disc DLC. I don't even like it being referred to as on-disc DLC. Calling it DLC seems like a lie. I'm downloading nothing. I'm unlocking content to a game I thought I already purchased the license to play.
Now I'm not starting a petition or storming the steps of congress because honestly I'm not freaking out. I simply think the idea of selling me a disc with additional content locked away is shady.
Most people tend to argue that if what you play is worth the money then no harm no foul.
My argument is this... I don't care if I get 60 dollars of enjoyment out of pressing start or getting all of the achievements... Why does my money not purchase the license for everything on the disc? As a consumer I just find that to being an unsettling president. I mean you could apply the same idea to other industries and it wouldnt make sense. A car with the CD player installed but behind a paygate or paying for utensils at a diner seem stupid comparisons to make but I don't see the difference.  CD players and/or utensils at a restaurant seem like an accepted standard of sorts but really they were just DLC nobody charged us for until production costs got too high and they needed to squeeze some extra dough out the hardcore.
Why the disc as the delivery system? I'm at the game store already and now when I go home I have to deal with unlocking additional content on a disc I just bought.
Not to contradict myself but if the additional content is something like a bonus multiplayer map... Whatever... But should this "on disc-dlc" morph my $60 purchase in any way or become a part of the core game beyond an elected mission, I think I have a point.
Besides, if the idea of there being day one DLC on the disc don't bother you now. I bet it will the day it gets pushed too far. What if a game shipped without two levels like in Assassin's Creed 2?... But they were on the disc. What if your favorite RPG had two morality endings but the on disc DLC opens up the infinite shades of gray.
I get it. If I don't want it then I don't have to buy it. I know. But nobody bothered to tell me I didn't buy it until after I bought the disc it lives on.

Tell your friends about me!

Take a hint from Kojima!

Do you like the Metal Gear Solid franchise? Not everybody does. It is a tough series to like if it isn't your thing and me explaining it now probably will not spur you to jump out of your seats and play the franchise. But if you do decide to play through it... DO NOT START WITH MGS: TWIN SNAKES!  In a nut shell they turned Solid Snake into Neo and have him do the most *R-worded* things. And considering how messed up and absurd the plot gets... That says a lot about how stupid Twin Snakes made the series.

But if there is one indisputable fact about the series... Each game is different in a major way somehow. Kojima productions knows how to do sequels.  Each installment brings either a new take on the series or a new convention every time!

Remember the jump from Doom 1 to 2? What changed? 1 New gun.. and a handful of new enemies and everything else was pretty much assets from the last game.

MGS 2 from 1 improves on every aspect of the previous model even if it turned out to be Kojima saying "See.. I CAN make the same game again and you wont know it til I tell you."

Then Metal Gear Solid 3 comes out and shifts what you are used to and adds more meta type stuff. There is a camouflage meter so you know exactly how hidden you are. The sound is much better and realistic so you can now move through bushes in loud environments without the enemy hearing your footsteps. Let's face it. Metal Gear solids "view cone" made the game seem like stealth pac-man at times. Sound didn't matter so much as you being spotted.  In 3 you have to stay hidden and quiet.

The gadgets in 3 are also more handy by virtue of the fact they are old school meaning that you cant just simply look at a radar, find your foe, point and shoot.  More strategy is involved. The classic boss sniper battle against The End can last 10 minutes or over an hour just by what gadgets you use to track your enemy.  The game has a Cabelis game hunter vibe to it as well. You hunt wildlife for food if you are low on rations. The food can even spoil if left untouched which you can now use to poison hungry soldiers when you blow up their food supplies. There is even a boss you can use that strategy against. 3 is arguably the finest entry into the series.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is definitely lip service to fans. It is very well designed but extremely story heavy which has always been a complaint about the series. And the end game cut scene is pretty much an entire movie. But those mild itches aside, it really is a great journey filled with twists and nostalgia. It may not have the meta elements that 3 did but the battlefield is also very different. There are less places to hide but due to Snake's Octocamo he can hide right out in the open. It is difficult to put my finger on what is so different about 4. But I think the return to form is what makes 4 different. It clashes old and new ideas seamlessly. It is just as modern as it is classic.

Then there is Peace Walker. The best thing about Peace Walker is the one thing missing from portable ops... Co-op multiplayer. Standard missions are 2 player but boss fights against heavy artillery are 4 player skirmishes that are Kojima doing his best to capture the intensity of a Monster Hunter fight. The ability to recruit and upgrade soldiers and their weapons adds tremendous amounts of depth to the game.  I personally don't just want peace walker in HD... But Peace Walker 2 on Ps3 AND the Vita.

Metal Gear Solid is one of the few franchises that makes every sequel feel like it could be a new game not just a grapically superior version of the last entry in the series.

What say you gameland?
